the human body works, how it adapts to change, and how
people, through exercise and nutrition, can take control of
their life with the proper information. Jesse is also passionate about making sure people understand the
rights and wrongs, and the do’s and dont’s of both nutrition and training. Jesse emphasizes that not every
person’s body is the same, therefore we all don’t react
the same way to training. Jesse will help you find the
best program for your individual body, while enjoying what
you are doing, and remaining motivated! Jesse has a
Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education and
is currently completing his Masters of Human Kinetics.
He has experience in both coaching and training while obtaining his degree. As an avid sports participant, and

YOUTH FITNESS
We want to help youth discover the life long benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Did you know that
only 11% of children are meeting Canada’s physical activity guidelines of 90 minutes a day?
(Active Healthy Kids Canada 2010) And that 21.8% of children are overweight or obese?
(Canadian Community Health Survey 2004)
What can you do?
• Be a role model for physical activity and moderation in use of screen time
• Plan active family time using free play and outdoor play
• Remove televisions and computers from bedrooms and limit time on TV, computers and
video games
Help your child or teen find something they like and move their body!
• Karate is an option for those 7 and over
• Teens are more than welcome in any fitness class (of course adult behaviour is expected)
• And of course our gyms are a super option for those who take the teen training as described
below
TEEN MEMBERSHIPS
If you are between 12 and 15 and are interested in working out in the weight room, then set
up an appointment with Celine. Celine will set up a program, review training methods and
techniques such as the principles of overload and progression, ensure your form is safe and
effective, and review gym etiquette. Remember - adult programs and training philosophies are
not appropriate for teens.

CONTINUOUS EVALUATION
With the LifeSaving Society program the
instructors are continuously evaluating
the participant. As they progress from
level to level the Instructor begins to
work on the next level immediately. On
the last class a progress memo is
distributed to each student to outline
their accomplishments and indicate what
level to register them in next time.
WE EMPHASIZE ACHIEVEMENT
Parents, during each and every session
your child is enrolled in lessons, he or
she is learning, experiencing and
achieving! During the 9 lessons some
children will progress to the next level
and others will continue to work at the
same level. At the end of a session, if
your child does not move to the next
level, please don’t consider it a failure.
Unfortunately some participants become
extremely stressed on the last day while
waiting for a pass or fail. As instructors
we work hard to reduce this stress by
using continuous evaluation and by
emphasizing achievements. With the
standards required with the LifeSaving
Program it is quite probable that
candidates will remain in each level,
learning and excelling, for many
sessions.

Non-Resident Policy
An additional charge of 20% will be
