McMichael Lecture Tomorrow Night
Continuing Threats to the Rights
of Women and Girls and to LGBT People
This evening’s presentation will feature Ellen Greenblatt and Nikilas
Mawanda. Ellen is a Global Justice Fellow who recently traveled to Uganda to
meet with local NGOs working for the rights of women and girls and
LGBT people, and Nikilas, now an asylee in the USA, is a transgender man
from Uganda who continues to work for human rights. Together, they will
give an overview of human rights issues facing Uganda and will discuss
some positive steps to improve the rights of women and girls and LGBT
people, both in Uganda and throughout the world. Monday, April 20 from
7-8 PM (Reception at 6:30)
Magdalene Fayetteville Kick-off
Thursday, April 30th
Becca Stevens, one of the premier preachers and speakers in the United
States and founder of Thistle Farms-Magdalene in Nashville, will visit St.
Paul’s with two Magdalene graduates to help our community understand the
importance of our own Magdalene House and inspire our journey.
Magdalene Fayetteville will be a sanctuary for healing and recovery for
women who have survived lives of childhood sexual abuse, addiction,
human trafficking, and prostitution.
The evening will also feature Thistle Farms products available for purchase
and a soul-gospel fusion concert by Nashville artist Mike Farris. Farris is
the recipient of an Americana Music Award, a GMA Dove Award, & a Grammy
Award. Please join us in this journey of transformation, healing, and
hope. A reception hosted by St. Spatula’s will begin the evening at 6:00 p.m.

Organ & Bass Concert Today
The Ozark Mountains British Brass Band and the
Northwest Arkansas Organ Guild will perform a joint
concert at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene at 3:30pm
this afternoon. Admission is free and all are invited to
attend.

Next weekend! Joe Martin Stage Race East Avenue on
Sunday morning, April 26th. No parking on East Avenue
in front of the church.
Bishop Benfield Annual Visitation
Our Bishop Larry Benfield will be here on Sunday, May
3 for his annual visitation. In addition to baptisms, the
bishop will confirm, receive and reaffirm a number of
adults and young adults. There will be a reception for the
teen confirmands during the 10:00 hour. The bishop will
also speak and entertain a question and answer session.
NOTE: If you plan to be presented to the Bishop for
Confirmation, Reception or Reaffirmation, make sure
you've filled out one of our Information Forms ASAP
available from the office. A reception follows the 11:00
service. Rehearsal for the service will be Saturday, May 2
at 10:00.


Bring in Your Old Coffee Cups
If your cupboards are bulging with your own personal
collection, please consider bringing old mugs to St.
Paul’s. They don’t have to match, or look pretty; they just
shouldn’t be cracked or broken. Thanks!
Healing Touch Workshops
The NWA Prison Story Project will debut its 5th public
performance, adaptations of true stories told by women at
the NWACCC in Fayetteville. Starring Arianne Ellison,
Elizabeth France, Aricka Lewis, Jonny Schremmer and Sabrina
Veroczi. Seating is limited! Reservations are

to save your spot! Saturday, May 2 at the Fayetteville
Underground. Doors at 7:00, performance at 7:30 p.m.
We will not have yoga on Friday, May 1st. Jamie
will lead a Gong Song & Trance the following
Friday evening at Yoga Deza, May 8th. Cost is
$15.

Baccalaureate Sunday
Children’s Ministries
We need names and degrees of everyone who
is graduating so we can recognize them at our
annual Baccalaureate Sunday, May 10.

High School Seniors at 8:45 and our other
graduates at 11:00.
Sunday School Spring Semester We have 5 classes of
Christian Formation for our youngest members. Join us
upstairs during the 10:00 hour.

Youth Ministries
Every Wednesday is Wednesday Night Faith Stories following our
community meal and service in the Parish Hall.
April 19th: Confirmation Class Our 6th Confirmation
Class will be held at St. Paul’s from 3-5pm.
April 19th: Gender Groups
April 25th- 26th: Final Confirmation Retreat
We’ll meet at St. Paul’s for our 7th and final confirmation
class and then head to Eureka Springs for the rest of the
weekend, as we did during the first retreat. Dinner and
breakfast will be provided.
New Couches
Our Youth Program needs to replace the couches that
were damaged by a leaking roof. The roof is repaired,
but now we are looking for four new or gently used
sectional couches.
Youth Director
Our Youth Director Amanda Harrison Robinson had
a bit of outpatient surgery recently and will be at home
resting and recovering for about one more week.
Assistant Alon Terrell will keep things going smoothly.
Summer is Almost Here!
We only have about 7 weeks left of EYC before summer
break. We’ll be boiling crawfish for the end of the year
party; we’ve got some fun stuff ahead.
