Hotel CROATIA Cavtat Ladies and Gentlemen, We have the honour to invite you to our annual ProfessionalBusiness Conference of the Croatian Water and Wastewater group: CURRENT ISSUES IN WATER SUPPLY AND SEWAGE Based on our multiannual and highly successful practice, the Croatian Water and Wastewater Group is organizing its traditional professional-business conference "Current Issues in Water Supply and Sewage" in order to gather relevant experts, institutions and companies which are active in the field of water and wastewater. This year's conference will be held from 22 – 26 October in Cavtat. In recent years we have seen a growing interest in our Professional-Business Conference – which grew into an event of veritable international importance, connecting experts and business people from more than 25 countries. This development is accompanied by a constant increase in the quality of the papers, lectures and business presentations with significant improvement of the events taking place at the Conference. In accordance with the above mentioned, our host this year is the pearl of tourism at the far south of Croatia – Cavtat. The conference will be held in the Hotel Croatia – a venue with the necessary comfort that allows high-quality implementation of all planned activities in one place. The last year in Croatia was largely marked by its accession into the EU, which has significantly influenced the operation of the water and wastewater sector. Since a considerable number of laws and subordinate regulations have been adopted or they are in the preparation phase, their influence on water management is already noticeable – starting with organizational changes to the preparation and use of sophisticated processes in the implementation of EU projects. Accordingly, a comprehensive reform of the public utilities sector in the field of water supply and sewage is being prepared, which introduces a number of changes, compared to the previous organization and operations, both in terms of the concentration of existing companies in this sector, as well as in relation to activities which can be offered by such companies, all in the context of the current practice. In the course of the rapprochement of the Croatian water supply policy to EU standards, a number of large projects in the field of water supply and waste water disposal are in the preparation and implementation phase. The ultimate goal is to improve the current situation or to reconstruct the existing buildings and plants, to build new water supply and wastewater systems and wastewater treatment plants; hence the number of devices connected to the public water supply and sewage customers should be increased, which also should have a positive effect on the standard of living of the population, along with the significant protection of ground and surface waters and the environment in general. The following basic topics represent only the backbone of this year's conference, but they will not be a limitation for the presentations from other relevant areas: 1. New legislation and its application in practice 2. The measurement of abstracted and delivered quantities of drinking water, billing, cost and price structure of the water services 3. Practical examples and experiences related to the application of EU funds 4. Wastewater treatment plants for 2.000 to 15.000 PE We share the opinion that the proposed topics for the Conference this year largely deal with the above listed problems and that they will provide a very good basis for further discussion at different levels and contribute to the improvement of the legislation, as well as the further development of the entire water sector, particularly in the field of water supply and sewage. We hereby invite you to join us this year, again, and to become a part of this certainly one of the most professional events in water supply and sewage. Mario Erceg, Brankica Dejanović Support to citizens, water suppliers and local governments for rational business operations and monitoring of the liberalization during the installation of internal water meters Ladies and Gentlemen, We have the honour to invite you to our annual ProfessionalBusiness Conference of the Croatian Water and Wastewater group: CURRENT ISSUES IN WATER SUPPLY AND SEWAGE Based on our multiannual and highly successful practice, the Croatian Water and Wastewater Group is organizing its traditional professional-business conference "Current Issues in Water Supply and Sewage" in order to gather relevant experts, institutions and companies which are active in the field of water and wastewater. We expect around 650 participants from more than 20 countries of Europe and beyond, as well as a large number of representatives of foreign embassies in Croatia. Along with the presentation of papers, the Conference will feature the traditional exhibition of products and services, in the hall and/or in the Proceedings, which will give the business sector an opportunity to present their programme and discuss their business issues. Last year we introduced a novelty, which is that the programme in the halls will be held only in the morning; this decision was supported by the participants, as well, and we shall continue with this timetable this year, too. We kindly asked the interested companies to contact the Revelin Agency as soon as possible and express their wishes, so that we can secure an appropriate time and place for their presentations. The number of exhibition desks and terms is limited. The interested companies who would like to have additional promotion events, to hold workshops or the like, have the chance to do it, this year, as well. All the companies presenting at the Conference will have a bonus in terms of a brief presentation of the company, product or service on a special all-inclusive DVD which will be distributed to all the participants at the Conference. Business persons who will not apply for a business presentation and will not sponsor the event in any way, but wish to be present are obliged to pay a business conference fee of Kn 3.250 incl.
