MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Kellie Crowell, Ravenna Clerk/Treasurer,
NMCA President
Eight months and counting….the 70th Annual
IIMC Conference in Omaha will be here before we
know it. Last week, a few of the board members
along with Beth Deck, Ellen Freeman-Wakefield
and Buster Brown met with IIMC representatives
Chris Shalby, Ashley DiBlasi, and Sharon Ozimek
and current IIMC President Monica Martinez Simmons.
The group from IIMC spent four days in Omaha,
they shared their excitement on coming to Nebraska in 2016 and were impressed with Omaha! They
loved the food, people, venue and atmosphere.
It was an outstanding meeting and we felt good
about how things are falling into place for the
conference. Some of the main topics were speakers, finances, sponsors and volunteers. The board
members and education committee will be meeting with Ellen and Buster next month to really start
things moving forward. IIMC board members also
will be meeting next month and we are anxious to
hear what exciting things they have in store for us.

NMCA congratulates Pilger Village Clerk on award
It gives the Nebraska Municipal Clerks Association great pleasure to announce that Pilger Village Clerk Kim Neiman was chosen as this year’s
recipient of the American Society for Public
Administration Nebraska Chapter Outstanding Public Administrator of the Year Award, for
her work during and after the June 16 tornado
struck, destroying the century old community of
Pilger.
This award is given annually to a public administrator that promotes excellence in the public
and nonprofit field. It is a prestigious honor that
serves to recognize the best of the best within
our communities.
Kim was appointed village clerk/treasurer for
the Village of Pilger in March of 1998. She was
awarded the 2007 Outstanding Village Clerk
by Nebraska Municipal Clerks Association. Kim
graduated with an Associate Degree in Business Administration at Northeast Community
College in May of 2007. She became a Master
Municipal Clerk in July of 2008. She is an active member of Pilger Volunteer Fire & Rescue
Department as a firefighter/EMT and Rescue
Captain. She is a member of the Stanton County Emergency Management Team, the American Legion Auxiliary, and St. John’s Lutheran
Church. Kim also is an adjunct EMS instructor
for Northeast Community College.
The American Society for Public Administration Nebraska Chapter formally presented this
award to Kim at a luncheon held at the University of Nebraska at Omaha on April 30, 2015.
Congratulations, Kim on a well-deserved
honor!
