These cores were recovered by the US drill ship JOIDES Resolution during Jan. 30 – Mar. 30, 2016, and temporarily stored in the GCR for sampling party and XRF scanning. After completion of the sampling, working half of the cores were brought from the GCR to the KCC under refrigeration in a 40-feet container. All these cores have been temporarily stored in the old reefer of the KCC. In a few weeks time, these cores will be racked in the new reefer of the KCC. With this addition of the cores from the Indian Ocean, the KCC’s IODP core collection has grown to ca. 123 km.
