Bypass Tray Printing Process
General information for Bypass Tray printing
In order to make the process of printing from the bypass tray as simple as possible for everyone there
are a couple of basic steps we would like everyone to follow.
1) Select file print from whichever application you want to print from. Depending on the program
and version of operating system you are running it may look a little different but select the
option for Printer Properties or just Properties. Selecting that option should open the Xerox
Print Driver shown below.
2) Under the paper window click on the drop down icon on to the right of the window, then
choose the Select by Tray option and finally select the Tray 5 (Bypass) option. You can then
change any other desired settings on the driver and select OK. This will then take you back to
the original driver where you can hit Print and send the print job to the printer.
3) Now head to the printer. When you first arrive the job should be held in the print queue waiting
for resources. Then proceed to load your desired paper stock into the bypass tray.
4) Loading your stock in the bypass tray will then cause the machine to ask you about the type of
paper you have just loaded – regardless of type of stock always confirm as Plain, White, 8.5 x 11
– the only exception to this is if it is a larger size paper (eg. – 8.5 x 14).
5) Your job should then be printed from the bypass tray. As you are leaving make sure to leave the
bypass tray empty so that the next users bypass print job does not end up on your speciality
stock.
If you encounter any issues with printing from the bypass tray please feel free to contact me directly and
I will be happy to assist you either over the phone or in person if necessary.
