Registration Timeline
March 15: Registration must be postmarked
March 17: Registration Drop Off from 5:30pm-7:00pm @Dicks Sports Goods- Chapel Hills Mall
April 3: Coaches Meeting from 6:00-7:00 @ Coronado High School
April 4: Schedules posted online
April 7,8,9: Games Begin
May 19,20,21 : End of the season tournament
Registration Checklist
1) E-mail SoCo letting them know you are entering a team (SoCoHoops.Megan@gmail.com)
2) Fill out the team registration form (below)
3) Fill out the team roster form (below)
4) Fill out the waiver form (below)
5) Once a year, all coaches must complete the online Concussion in Sports training (free) and print (or scan an e-mail)
the certificate of completion. The course can be found here: http://nfhslearn.com/courses/61037
6) If your team is located 45 minutes outside of Colorado Springs, please contact SoCo. It is the coaches’ responsibility
to contact SoCo if a team is traveling far distances to place in the league (for scheduling purposes).
Payment: All teams must submit full payment ($95/per-player with a minimum of 8 players) by September 14th. SoCo
does not accept credit cards. Players can still add players after this time, yet teams will not be able to participate
without payment for 8 players on September 14th. There is no admission fee for any regular season games for parents.

9 game minimum (average per season/per team is 10.5 games)

Game Time and Schedules: All spring games will be played on Friday’s from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday’s from 3:00pm9:00pm, or Sunday’s from 12:00pm – 6:00pm (tipoff times). In consideration of family planning, all schedules will be
given out prior to the first game and are established for the remainder of the season. Games consist of two (2) twenty
minute halves, modified running clock. Each team will be scheduled for eight games. The league will be topped off with
an end of season single elimination tournament! Practice facilities/times are the responsibility of the coach. Each team is
responsible to provide one representative at the scorer’s table for each game. Please read SoCo’s policies and rules that

As a coach or assistant coach, I have read and understand the Southern Colorado Basketball League rules and expectations. I understand the importance of
emphasizing the proper ideals of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and fair play as they relate to the lifetime impact on the participants. I also accept responsibility for
the conduct and behavior of my team’s parents before, during, and after games. This includes any monitoring or disciplinary action implemented by SoCo staff. I will
avoid any practice or technique that would endanger the present or future safety/welfare of my players or any participant. I understand the importance of good
coaching character at practices and games. I understand that if my behavior is out of line disciplinary action may be taken against me. If I receive two technical fouls
in one game, I will receive a one game suspension. If I receive an excessive amount of technical fouls throughout the season (determined by SoCo staff), I will receive
a one game suspension. I have taken the Concussion in Sport online training. The information provided on the registration forms is correct and accurate to the best
of my knowledge. Failure to adhere to these expectations and rules could result in disqualification from the Southern Colorado Basketball League. No team refunds
are given after the team has been scheduled to participate.

Roster notes/rules




Parent signatures are required for all participants. The waiver is on the next sheet.
Players may play up one age division, but cannot play down (unless approved by SoCo). Players are eligible for
only one roster in each age division. If a player participates in two age divisions, he/she must be officially
registered for each division and must have paid for both teams.
The league has the discretion to allow an approved player to play down an age division under very specific
circumstances. If this occurs, the player must be approved by the league before the roster is submitted. After
league play begins, SoCo has the right to remove this player from the team if SoCo believes the player is too
advanced to play in the lower division. Again, the circumstances for approval will be extremely specific
scenarios such as:
o A child started school at an early age (age 4)
o A child was advanced a grade level due to academic achievement or prowess
Teams are gender specific.

Southern Colorado Basketball League Waiver
Participation in athletic events and physical activities involves certain risks. The Southern Colorado Basketball League will not assume responsibility for any injury while participating
in this program. Nor will the Southern Colorado Basketball League be liable for lost or stolen items while participants and their families are attending the league games. I, the above
signed, my heirs and assigns hereby release the Southern Colorado Basketball League, it’s programs, employees, and volunteers from all claims for injury, death, loss or damage I, or
members of my family suffer as a result of my participation. Roster signature gives SoCo permission to use participants’ photographs for SoCo promotional materials and web site.
Any parent/fan who approaches an official (in an argumentative or confrontation manner), and/or displays inappropriate fan behavior, will not be allowed to attend any
SoCo games the remainder of the season. The player of the parent/supporting fans who behaves inappropriately may be suspended for 1 or more games Coaches are also
responsible for monitoring consequences and disciplinary actions implemented by SoCo staff.
