Class Organisation 2016/17 It’s now the time of year when we sort classes out for September. There are a couple of small changes which you will see below. We are finalising new class lists and these will be sent out to you shortly. From September, the classes will be as follows: Reception – Class KB - Mrs Bradley Reception – Class EP - Miss Peggs Year One – Class AW - Mrs Walker (Mrs Wragg will be teaching the class on Tuesdays) Year One/Two – Class EH - Miss Hunt Year Two – Class DHSW - Mrs Hatch (Monday, Tuesday & alternate Wednesdays), Mrs Wragg (Thursday, Friday & alternate Wednesdays) Year Three – Class TD - Mr Dennis (in the classroom now used by Miss Bevins) Year Three/Four – Class RSSW - Mrs Sarson (maternity cover for Mrs Johnson) – Monday & Tuesday, Mr White (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) Year Four – Class EJMB - Mrs Batey (Monday & Tuesday), Miss Johnson (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) Year Five – Class CJ - Ms Jackson Year Six – Class OB - Miss Bevins Holiday Club Thank you to all of you who completed our holiday club questionnaires. It seemed from the initial round of questions that there was a demand for provision – with over 80 people responding, around 70% of whom wanted a club. However, with more detailed questioning it seemed that the demand was patchy. I understand that it isn’t always possible to say at this stage what provision you would need and that some parents wanted to know what activities would be taking place – it’s a bit of a ‘chicken and egg’ situation though; it’s hard to plan activities before knowing numbers and without numbers it’s difficult to know what to plan. Ultimately, if we were to match the prices of Total Sports, we would need around 60 children per week, or we would need to charge around £40 per day to make it viable. Therefore, regretfully, we will not be able to offer a holiday club this summer. We will continue to monitor demand for this and act appropriately if the situation changes. Nut Free Please remember we are a nut free school. As well as nuts themselves, products containing nuts should not be sent to school. Tennis Balls Thanks to Bishopthorpe Tennis Club who donated a box of tennis balls to the school, free of charge.
