Concept on Spatial Planning System adopted by government
(Jun 10, 2009):
• new law on spatial planning and building regulations –is
proposed - easier procedures and simplified content of
municipal plan
• by 2015 all municipalities will have electronic (GIS based)
municipal plans and e- services will be provided
• availability on the web will be ensured by state spatial
planning information system (project initiated in 2008)
• regional development indicator system(RDIM) will be
establised

Latvia`s opinion on Territorial agenda
 diversity and varied challenges of European cities should
be respected
 cities might not be only ones regional policy target areas

on national Strategy 2030 and local development
