Whitchurch Primary School Achieving Our Best Together. Sports Premium Funding 2015-2016. Each year we are given funding to improve PE and School sport. The impact of this funding is measured by: achievement in weekly PE lessons; increased participation in competitive school sport; personal health and well-being improved attitudes and behaviour towards learning. This document details: the amount of grant received how it has, or will be, spent. what impact the school has seen on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment. For financial year 2015/2016 we received: £8868 We have spent it on: Increased ‘out-of-hours’ clubs: Every day after school children can participate in sports clubs as follows. Using Sports Funding, we keep all costs to £2 a session. Tuesday: Multi-Sports (Y1, 2 and 3, cost £2) and Football (Y5 and 6, Free) Wednesday: Dance (£2) Thursday: Football (Y3 and 4, cost £2) Friday: Cricket (KS2, £2) and Scooter club (Whole school, free with accompanying parent.) IMPACT: 100% of school is offered a free after school sports activity. 100% of KS1 and KS2 are offered a subsidised after school sports activity. AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS COST: £5878 LESS PARENTAL CONTRIBUTIONS: £3599 COST FROM GRANT: £2279 We have also subsidised travel costs to sports facilities. COST £4471.50 LESS PARENTAL CONT: £3890: COST: £581.50 We have introduced a new sport into school, which all children have access to during break and playtimes. Skills learnt can also be carried on in local parks. IMPACT: 100% of children have access to new equipment and a new sport. This will also encourage children to visit local parks. COST: £2970 We have purchased equipment including bikes for EYFS, a Mat trolley to enable better access to equipment, and a fruit and salad bar for our school dinners. IMPACT: EYFS have access to balance equipment, floor work has increased in PE lessons due to accessibility of equipment, and children are offered a better choice of foods for a healthy lifestyle. COST: £1152.70 We have bought into Raphael Burke’s (Former Manchester United ‘92 player) Soccer application centres, where Gifted and Talented footballers are sent to hone their skills. IMPACT: Higher ability footballers in Year 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to improve further under expert tuition. COST: £801 Income less spending: £8868 -2279 581.50 2970 1152.70 801 1083.80 This remainder will be spent on various activities during our 2nd annual sports week, where we introduce the children to new sporting activities and opportunities. PREDICTED COST £4471.50 LESS PREDICTED PARENTAL CONT: £3890: COST: £581.50 Aspire ‘Sporting Family Change:’ As part of our schools emotional well-being support, we offer identified children sessions with fully qualified and CRB coaches who specialise in emotional literacy work around a sporting theme. The coaches visit us two afternoons a week. IMPACT: Children identified as needing emotional support ( and where a sporting theme will provide this) receive it. PREDICTED COST: £ 1600. SSCO support: We buy into SSCO support. This provided staff training and taster days for children in a variety of sporting areas. It also gives us access to a variety of sporting competitions, which we participate in when possible. COST: £250 IMPACT: Staff CPD remains up to date. Children are offered alternative sports. We have bought into Raphael Burke’s (Former Manchester United ‘92 player) Soccer application centres, where Gifted and Talented footballers are sent to hone their skills, alongside developing sports like disciplines and attitudes. IMPACT: Higher ability footballers in Year 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to improve further under expert tuition, alongside developing sportspersonship and discipline skills. COST: £960 Income less spending: £8870 -2279 - 581.50 -1600 - 250 - 960 £3199.60 This is correct as of September 2016. The remaining £4159.50 will be spent on equipment and new experiences for the children.
