Men’s Basketball League Rules
1. Rosters are limited to 10 players per team. All players must Sign the Roster
before the 1st game. Final Rosters are due to the Recreation Supervisor by
the 3rd game (No Exceptions). Please Note: Your team must have over 50%
Frankfort Residents on your roster to be considered for Resident Rate.
Players must have valid I.D to prove identity at the request of a referee, building
or Recreation Supervisor
2. Game Time – There will be a 5 minute grace period for the 6:45pm game. If a
team does not have enough players to participate at the conclusion of the grace
period they my forfeit the game.
3. Teams that forfeit a game must pay a $20.00 forfeit fee. This fee must be paid
to the park district office before their next scheduled game.
4. Games will be played using (2) 20 minutes halves. A running clock will be used
throughout the game, except on all whistles under 1 minute in the 1st half and
fewer than 2 minutes in the 2nd half/Overtime. Halftime will be 3 minutes.
5. Jerseys/uniform All Players must wear a numbered uniform, jersey, or tshirt. All teams will be responsible for supplying their own jerseys.
6. Slaughter Rule- Any team leading by 15 or more points with 2 minutes left in the
second half will be declared the winner.
7. Time-Outs- Each team will have 2 time-outs per half. No carry over time-outs. 1
additional time-out per team for Overtime.
8. Each team will be given 6 team fouls per half. Super Bonus will be in effect on
the 10th foul. On the 7th foul a 1 and 1 free throw will be rewarded. Players will
be fouled out on the 6th foul.
9. All intentional fouls will be 2 shots and ball out of bounds at Half Court. If a
player receives 2 technical fouls during a game, they will be ejected and will
receive a 1 game suspension. Any unsporting acts on the part of players or
spectators will not be tolerated.
10. Over Time- Will be 3 minutes in length. The 2nd OT will be sudden death (1st
team to score any point will be winner)

11. Substitutions- Can only take place during a stoppage of play. Players must
notify the scorekeeper when substituting. Substitutes will enter after the 1st of two
free throws.
12. Cash Prizes- Prizes will be awarded to end of the season tournament champion
and the runner up. The amount will be determined by the number of participating
teams. The championship team will also receive a trophy.
13. The Frankfort Park District will not be held responsible for any injuries that may
occur in our basketball league. All players must sign a waiver sheet before
participating in the first league game.
14. All teams leading by 15 points or more must drop back to half court(No Pressing)
15. The Athletic Supervisor will have the final authority to create and enforce any
additional rules and regulations not covered in the above rules.
16. All players and teams are responsible in following all building and ground rules
set forth by the Frankfort Park District. Violation of any rules will result in an
automatic termination from the league.
17. All other league rules not covered will be I.H.S.A. sanctioned. Any House Rules
will take precedence over these rules.
18. The Top 4 teams make the playoffs and will play a single elimination tournament
at the end of the regular season. Tiebreakers/Seeding will be determined by:
Win/Loss records, Head to Head finishes, Lowest Amount of Points giving up in
season.
