College of Educational & Organizational Leadership are on the semester system, except for the Masters of
Education in Reading program. All other masters and doctoral level programs at the University of La Verne,
including the Masters of Education in Reading, are on a term track system. Please refer to the Registrar’s
calendar pages for specific calendar dates.
Official transcripts required – Transcript Guidelines
Both official transcripts and/or degree certificates must arrive directly from the secondary school or university.
Items must arrive sealed, in their original envelope, and should be from the appropriate office within the
school/university.
The following applies to undergraduate transfer applicants only. The University of La Verne requires a subject
breakdown, with letter grades and upper or lower division equivalencies. For an up to date list of approved
Foreign Credential Services, please refer to the following website: http://www.naces.org/members.htm.
In order to have foreign coursework reviewed for General Education applicability (as opposed to elective credit),
students need to submit a request form for certification of course descriptions. IERF is one company that offers
this service. (IERF Application for a detailed credential evaluation)
All graduate applicants should review the Graduate Transcript Guidelines page at
http://laverne.edu/admission/graduate/international-requirements/. All graduate applicants from China should

The Application Process
Please review the specific guidelines posted online that highlight the application process for undergraduate and
graduate admission. The Agent Applicant Authorization Form MUST be submitted with the application or
supplementary materials at the onset of the application process.
Difference between conditional and regular admission:
University of La Verne Admission: Agent Guidelines and Policies
Conditional means the student has not yet been accepted. The student needs to meet one or more of the
following criteria before being admitted to the program:
1) Proof of English proficiency.
2) Proof of English proficiency and Proof of graduation (final transcript, degree certification). Student must
also meet minimum GPA requirements to be accepted.
3) GMAT/GRE results if minimum GPA requirements are not met. (For graduate only)
Conditional admission is meant to address low-level English ability, not completion of a bachelor’s degree or
high school diploma. A CLA should not be requested for students that meet the minimum required English
proficiency for full admission or bridge programs.
Conditional admission is not admission, nor is it a guarantee of acceptance if the student does not satisfy the
minimum requirements by the stated deadline. Students cannot obtain an I-20 to the University of La Verne
with conditional admission.
A few tips for working with the University of La Verne:
1) We do not review with in-progress transcripts or without a TOEFL/IELTS score, unless a request for
Conditional Review (CLA) has been sent with the application materials. It is advised that a cover sheet
requesting CLA be provided to avoid a delay in the process. You will see on the checklist when the CLA
request has been received; this will be updated when the CLA is issued.
2) When following up on applications, please include the students’ date of birth. We often have several
students with the name, and this will help us respond to you faster without needing additional follow
up.
3) The University takes forging/falsifying documents very seriously. At no time should an agent sign a
document as the student or sign a letter as a recommendation writer. At no time should agents write
personal statements or resumes for their students. All documents must come from their original source.
4) Our admission offices do not issue I-20s. Please do not send I-20 requests/questions/follow up to your
university admission contacts. The Office of International Student Services will contact your admitted
students directly after the deposit has been received to begin the process.
Who To Contact:
1) Please contact only the defined university representative with any questions regarding the student’s
application status, decision, requirements, etc. Please note, however, that most of the information you
will require for graduate programs can be found on the Undergraduate Admission page at
www.laverne.edu/international or the Graduate Admissions webpage at
http://laverne.edu/admission/graduate/. We especially recommend that you review the information
for graduate international students on the Frequently Asked Questions and Transcript Guidelines pages.
When sending emails, please allow a minimum of 48-72 business hours for a response.

required.
d. Graduate applicants wishing to contact the Graduate Admission Office directly should email
gradadmission@laverne.edu. Ms. Shishegar’s email should not be distributed to your students.
University of La Verne Admission: Agent Guidelines and Policies
2) Please do not contact the Undergraduate Admission or Graduate Admission office’s email with
application questions as these inboxes are for individual student inquiries. Agents should not send
emails representing themselves as the student.
a. Note: regular reminders of incomplete undergraduate application status will be sent from the
admission@laverne.edu inbox. Please follow up with Adam Wu directly with regards to these
communications in place of replying to the automatic email.
