Identity Finder Instructions 1. You will need to close Firefox if it’s running then… 2. Run Identity Finder. There should be a shortcut on your desktop. 3. If not, you can find it under the Start Menu under All Program Identity Finder Folder: 4. You will be prompted to enter a password. Use “Sdsurf2016!” (without quotes). Click ok: 5. Click Ok: 6. Click the green Start button to start scanning your computer for PL1 data. Note you can use your computer during this time. 7. Identity Finder will start searching. It will likely take a while but you can minimize it and get on with your work: 8. When the scan finishes, it will display all the files with sensitive data. Review the list. No files should be kept on your computer with sensitive data. If any files need to be kept, they need to be moved immediately off of your computer to the shared drives (O & P drives). This should be an exception rather than the rule – we want to minimize the amount of sensitive data on your computer and on the shared drives. 9. After all appropriate files have been saved off of your workstation’s hard drive, click the check box to select all remaining files (If the files are in “Program…” folders you may want to ask us before selecting them) 10. Click Shred and and Next> 11. You will be asked to confirm the Shred. This will delete all the files on your computer. This is a non-reversible process so please double check the list of files before clicking yes. 12. Once your list is clean of results you are all set. Click Finish: 13. Please note that it will check your email boxes as well so if you have A LOT of emails this may take several hours. If it’s not complete by the end of day you might want to just “lock” your computer instead of logging off and let it run all night. Thanks so much!
