Dear Friend/Business Acquaintance,
We are writing on behalf of the University of Delaware Women’s Club Ice Hockey Team. Our team is
comprised of female student-athletes of all different skill levels and from all over the -nation. The women
begin practicing the very first day of classes in August in preparation for 20+ multi-league, the regional
playoffs, and the national tournament, where they compete with the highest levels of competition.
We ask you to consider being a sponsor for our team. Your sponsorship would help cover the cost of ice time,
equipment, uniforms, league fees, and travel expenses. Your assistance will make it possible for these young
women to train and participate in more games throughout the year.
We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit ice hockey club supported entirely by volunteers, friends, and our players
themselves. The women cover all expenses related to team operations, marketing, PR, and travel and hope to
lessen the costs by raising money through sponsorships and other fundraising opportunities. Still, the cost is
prohibitive without donations, sponsorships, and community support. This is why we ask you for your support.
If you are able to donate towards our efforts, we will promptly forward you a thank you letter with our tax
identification number for your records.
