Finger Print E-Voting Systems

Finger Print E-Voting Systems
Abstract: In this project finger print electronic voting technology can
include putting finger print voting systems , optical scan
voting systems and specialized voting .
 It can also involve transmission of biometric systems.
Finger print e-voting which is physically supervised by
representatives of governmental or independent electoral
authorities machines (electronic voting biometric machines
located at polling stations).
 The existing systems are remote e-voting via the internet
(also called i-voting) where the voter votes at home or
without going to a polling station. Much insecurityhas been
found in commercial biometric voting machines, such as
using a default administration password.
 The system has list of eligible voters in it, the voting system
tallies the recognized finger print against the ones stored in
database. If match is found that person is allowed to vote.
 Once a vote is casted by that person his id is rolled out for that
voting process. This avoids double vote casting. Thus our
system provides for a fully automated voting system with
finger print based authentication.
Existing Systems: The Existing systems first for voter registration in order to
establish the right to vote and afterwards, at voting time, to
allow a citizen to exercise their right to vote by verifying if
the person satisfies all the requirements needed to vote
(authentication).
 After few days e-voting systems can introduced have also
been reported of machines making unpredictable,
inconsistent errors.
 Key issues with electronic voting are therefore the
openness of a system to public examination from outside
experts, the creation of an authenticable paper record of
votes cast and a chain of custody for records.
Proposed systems: In this proposed a fingerprint based voting system project.
We use a fingerprint module interfaced with
microcontroller and an LCD screen in this system.
 The fingerprint module is used to sense fingerprints and
provide to microcontroller for further processing. The
system has list of eligible voters in it, the voting system
tallies the recognized finger print against the ones stored in
database.
 match is found that person is allowed to vote. Once a vote
is casted by that person his id is rolled out for that voting
process. This avoids double vote casting. Thus our system
provides for a fully automated voting system with finger
print based authentication.
Advantages: The advantage of biometrics was formed and has since
expanded on to many types of physical identification. Still,
the human fingerprint remains a very common identifier
and the biometric method of choice among law
enforcement.
 These concepts of human identification have lead to the
development of fingerprint scanners that serve to quickly
identify individuals and assign access privileges.
 The basic point of these devices is also to examine the
fingerprint data of an individual and compare it to a
database of other fingerprints.
MODULE DESCRIPTION:
 Number of Modules:
 After careful analysis the system has been identified to
have the following modules:
 Administrative Module
 User/Voter Module
 Nominee/candidate Module
ADMINISTRATIVE MODULE:
 Finger E-Voting is a voting system by which any Voter can use
his\her voting rights from anywhere in India. E-voting for
association contains-:
 Voter’s information in database.
 Voter’s Names with ID.
 Voter’s vote in a database.
 Calculation of total number of votes.
 Various operational works that are done in the system are: Recording information of the Voter in Voter database.
 Checking of information filled by voter.
 Discard the false information.
 Each information is maintained by admin.
USER/VOTER MODULE:
 The user after their registration only can logon for Finger
print voting. The user will view nominee details with their
image before they can vote.
 After knowing the nominee details the user can logon for
voting. They should vote for board of director and the
manager in the association.
 The count will taken for each voting. After voting the
particular person/user cannot logon to vote again.
NOMINIEE/CANDIDATE MODULE:
 The Nominee details will be updated by the admin for the
post of board of director and manager.
 The candidate will submit their own details and the admin
maintain all of background details of the particular nominee
and uploaded their information in correct procedure. In
order to, the user or voter can view the nominee details.

Conclusion:
 In this paper, Finger print techniques based on e-voting
systems are proposed for Voting. These techniques generate
finger print are resistant to dictionary attack, brute force
attack and shoulder-surfing.
 Both the techniques use grid for finger print e-voting
systems. The system has list of eligible voters in it,
 the voting system tallies the recognized finger print against
the ones stored in database. If match is found that person is
allowed to vote. Once a vote is casted by that person his id
is rolled out for that voting process.
