Importing and Exporting Materials to/from D2L Materials can be exported from and imported into D2L. In addition to materials from D2L, you can import content from WebCT, Blackboard, Respondus, SCORM SCO, and other properly formatted files. Via Edit Course Import/Export/Copy Components, you have the following options: Import: Use the import function when you want to import an exported D2L package (.zip), a test bank, or a packaged course from a publisher (also .zip). Items that have been exported from a D2L course, WebCT, Blackboard, SCORM SCO files, Respondus QTI files, and other properly formatted materials can be imported into a D2L course. Note: More information may be found in the document “Uploading a Publisher Test Bank to D2L” on the Help for Instructors page. *Export: Use the export function (in Import/Export/Copy Components) when you want to archive or move the course to a different system. Please note that individual information about students such as grades, discussion posts, files submitted to the dropbox, etc. are not exported. NOTE: Do not use the Export function to copy materials to another course. Copy: Use the copy function (in the new course) to copy materials from a previous/other course. For more information on this function, see “Copying D2L Materials from Another Course” on the Help for Instructors page. * Note: You can also export from other areas of D2L (grades, rubrics) to view course information in a .csv (spreadsheet) format.
