Homework. Our main topic this half term is ‘Wolf Proof. This is based on materials and designing a house that is ‘Wolf Proof’ like in the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ Each week, your child may choose one of the tasks below to complete for their homework. Once your child has completed one of the tasks, please encourage them to tick it off. Re-tell the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ in your own words. Draw a picture of a plant and label its structure. Draw a picture of a tree and label its structure. (Leaves, roots, stem, flower, petals) (Leaves, roots, trunk, branches, twigs) Draw a design of a Wolf Proof house and label it using the materials you would use. Make a model of a house that is Wolf Proof. Draw a picture of the houses ‘The Three Little Pigs’ made and write about it. Go on a nature walk around your garden and list the different plants and flowers that you can see. Re-tell the story of ‘The Gingerbread man’ in your own words. Is it strong? Is it sturdy? Is it windproof? Which materials did they use? Was that a good choice of materials? Why/ Why not? Make a list of the materials that are strong and sturdy. As a school, we still expect your child to read at least 3x a week, and continue to practise and develop their mathematical skills. Here is a list of maths skills your child could work on: Counting in multiples of 2’s, 5’s and 10’s (saying the whole number sentence: 1x2=2) Writing numbers in words to 10. Solving simple addition and subtraction problems.
