Sustainability Characteristics
Simulation Games
•  Mutual relationships in
situations previously
considered separate
•  Actions and decisions
provoke instant feedback
(by participants or model)
•  Staged in actual situations
•  Multiple perspectives
(different roles)
•  Conflicting goals
•  Dynamic interaction of
participants in

napuro – Die Business Simulation
für unternehmerische Nachhaltigkeit und CSR
napuro in wenigen Worten

napuro in brief
napuro simulates a competition among companies producing cleaning
robots that can distinguish themselves through defining measures for
corporate sustainability. The setting ensures sufficient distance from the
daily routine for the participants to fully engage in the subject, but still
provides enough parallels to the everyday working environment. Hence,
specific real-life situations are represented in the simulation game, and
the experience that participants gain can be easily transferred to day-today life.
Nutzen
Was napuro vermittelt
Making further advances in terms of sustainability
napuro provides new stimuli to advance sustainability comprehensively
and at all levels of a company. The simulation game creates the scope to
experience the effect of various measures as well as test different strategies. New sustainability processes benefit from a motivating start with
many ideas, while processes already underway reap rewards from the
comprehensive view on sustainability provided by napuro.
Managers of the six companies
discuss their sustainability strategy
internally.
Zielgruppen
- HR: Onboarding, Talentförderung, Führungskräfteentwicklung, Change
- CSR/Nachhaltigkeit: Teams, Projektgruppen mit speziellen Aufgaben
- Ganze Firmen oder Abteilungen (auch als Teamevent)
-
How do outsiders perceive the
company? – Is it successfully
climbing “Mount Sustainability”?

napuro in your company
A workshop with the napuro simulation game comprises an introduction
to corporate sustainability and to the “UCS Model of Corporate Sustainability” and, following the simulation game, a detailed debriefing of the
participants’ experiences and the transfer to their own company. Workshops can be focused on client-specific fields of interest, such as effective sustainability communication, sustainable process optimization, or
the anchoring of a sustainability strategy within an organisation.
What napuro provides
- Comprehensive and easy-to-understand model of corporate sustainability
- Understanding of corporate sustainability as a tool for hedging risks
and early detection of opportunities for the company
- Participants get to know the components of corporate sustainability
and experience the relevant dynamic interaction
Benefits
Participants are able to identify the significance and elements of corporate sustainability within their own company and can actively contribute
to their further development.

Strengths and limits of simulation games in the
context of sustainability
Strengths:
•  Participants experience dynamic interactions, side effects,
distant effects (system thinking)
•  Multiple perspectives
•  „Gestalt communication“
Requirements (limits)
•  Sufficient time, the „right tool“
•  Proper embedding in curriculum, debriefing and transfer
•  Committed and trained facilitators
