BENCH Delegation Trip to China
The BENCH project arranges a delegation trip to China in March 2012. Small and
Medium sized Enterprises, SMEs, from Estonia, Finland and Sweden will join the
trip, together with official delegates from each country. The purpose of the trip is to
meet officials, make study visits and conduct business to business meetings with
representatives from Chinese cleantech and high tech companies, for instance.

The delegation will be headed by Governor Elisabeth Nilsson, County
Administrative Board of Östergötland.

BENCH Interrim Conference in Lahti
The BENCH Interim conference took place in Lahti, Finland, in October.
Participants from the project, as well as external stakeholders, met to find out
more about the project. The invited speakers were highly appreciated, and with
their knowledge and insight about making business with China, they really
contributed to making the conference a success.

Study Visit to the Province of Zuid-Holland
In order to learn more from an EU-region with
successful cooperation with China, a group
representing the BENCH project visited the region
of South Holland in the beginning of October.
The main focus of the study trip was to find out
about interesting methods and experiences to learn
from and to use in the BENCH regions, both when it
comes to collaboration within a region as well as
cross-border collaboration, if any.

The BENCH Interim

high-light this autumn. Having
come this far in the project, it
is very satisfying to see how
all preparations, previous
work and collaboration now
start to make a difference
and the pieces are beginning
to come together. Even if we
still have a long way to go we
are well on the way.
The BENCH project is very
complex, and new methods
and collaboration are tried
out. But the fact that this pilot
project was praised by the
prominent speakers at the
Interim conference
strengthens us in our
conviction that something
very good will come out of it.

Success for The 2nd Baltic-China Annual
Business Conference

This year is the 20th anniversary of diplomatic founding between Estonia and
China. This event was celebrated in Estonia in October, where the Estonian
BENCH team co-hosted "The 2nd Baltic-China Annual Business Conference".
Contact information to

The aim with the conference was to encourage more Estonian and other Baltic
entrepreneurs to do business with/in China. The main theme was "Export to
China: Challenges and Opportunities".

BENCH Research at Linköping University
One of the tasks of the BENCH project is to conduct research regarding support
to SMEs. This is being done by BENCH partners in Estonia, Finland and Sweden.
