"The Workshop on Polarized Sources and Targets (PST 2001) was held at the Brown County Inn in Nashville, Indiana from September 30th and October 4th, 2001. It was organized by the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility in Bloomington, Indiana. The Workshop is the most recent of a series held at about two year intervals, the last of which was held in Erlangen, Germany in 1999. About 80 scientists attended the Workshop. There were 12 invited talks, 30 contributed talks and 15 posters. E. Steffens (Erlangen) gave the summary talk at the conclusion of the Workshop. The subjects addressed in the Workshop included atomic beam polarized H and D targets, solid polarized targets, spin polarized HD, polarized electron sources, polarized ion sources, hadron polarimetry at intermediate to high energies, electron polarimetry, polarized neutrons and the use of polarized noble gases in medical imaging."1 PST 2001, NASHVILLE, INDIANA UNIVERSITY Proceedings of the Ninth International Workshop on Polarized Sources and Targets, eds.
