When using an online ‘wish list,’ 41% of respondents said their primary reason was that they
could not afford a product at the time, but would be able to later. Meanwhile, 6% of people
placed products in ‘wish lists’ knowing that they will probably never be able to afford the product, while 18% of people said they use ‘wish lists’ for products they can afford, but know they
shouldn’t purchase. About one third of respondents said their primary reason for using ‘wish
lists’ was for products they were unsure whether they wanted to purchase or not and 4% had
other reasons for using ‘wish lists.’
