goals (long-term, intermediate, short-term).
 I can explain why it is important to

Goals are more than saying you want to
do something…
You must clearly define exactly
what you want
AND
 Understand why you want it
AND
 Plan how you are going to get it.


that will take some time, but are big
steps on the way to long-term goals

Short-term Goals are goals that you
will reach in a short amount of time and
are the first steps toward your
intermediate and long-term goals

on the “A” honor role
 Register for advanced/AP classes
 Pass all my classes/earn 18 credits
 Register for a World Language class
 Take and pass a photography class

What are shortterm goals?

Setting goals gives you long-term vision
and short-term motivation.
 Long
term goals help set your sights high
 Intermediate goals guide your steps to
achieving your dreams
 Short-term goals keep you motivated

Achieving your goals can raise
your self-confidence as you recognize
your own abilities

Trimester 1 Goal Suggestions:
 Complete
all homework ON TIME
 Improve test scores in most challenging class
 Join & participate in a club/sport/activity
 Participate more frequently in class
 Ask my teachers questions when confused
 Stay after school for extra help twice a week
 Earn a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0
 Grade
