Big Camp Themes 2017 1. Mississippi Mud (June 12-16) Our guide will be Mark Twain on this awesome MUD week on the Mississippi. Our days will contain a large amount of water and mud so dress accordingly. Build a fort and a raft. Who will win the raft races, watermelon wrestling, or seed spitting contests? How many snakes will you find along the way? Let's build a fire to roast marshmallows for s'mores. Don't forget to take home your Tie Dye snake, homemade soap, and a campfire to go. We will wrap the week up with a treasure hunt and Mud relay. 2. MacGyver Training (June 19-23) Mac needs your help to solve some rather tricky problems. Can you use just what you have on hand to create a toy for a group of crazy kids? What would you do if you are stranded with the water rising around you? Can you pick up objects without using your hands? This is the week to learn about how science can get you out of some sticky situations. Build a Hovercraft and make a duct tape wallet. Let's find out how you are at puzzles and codes? Teamwork is the key. Join our team this week, try out your skills, and learn some really awesome new ones. 3. Celebrate America (June 26-30) Fourth of July is just around the bend. Let's celebrate with a little trip around our country to some of our beautiful National Parks. How about a little glacier carry, water balloon throw, or army dodgeball. Of course we will pay tribute to our service men and women. A paracord bracelet, Fireworks t-shirt, and some awesome patriotic crafts are ours to keep. Let's celebrate our country with a mini Patriot Carnival on Friday. 4. Ghostbusters ( July 10-14) This is some crazy week at camp. Ghosts are appearing everywhere and making quite a mess of things. Our “Proton” packs will come in handy dealing with Marshmallow man. Green slim is everywhere Slimer must be hiding around here somewhere. First we do anything we can to rid this place of Ghosts, Marshmallow man, and Slimer. Then we can clean up this mess. Take home some slim? Sure, but I'm not sure you should eat that brown and green looking stuff? We will be fighting back on our “Ghost Hunt” in the woods, so watch out. “Who you gonna call?” 5. Amazing Race International (July 17-21) Grab your passport and make a run for the airport. The amazing race starts here at camp but ends who knows where. Five countries in five days with challenges and road blocks along the way. Teamwork is the key to success in this race. We may come across snakes, ninja warriors, and the Lock Ness monster? What are you willing to eat, hold, or put you hand in, to win for your team. Take home a few souvenirs from your trip, a lucky key chain, a friendly troll, and a bright lantern. Bring your running shoes and a need for fun to this week and you are sure to be a winner. 6. Wet & Wild Hawaii (July 24-28) It's really hot and we all need to cool off, so let's play some “Drip, Drip, Drench”, “Catch the water bombs”, and take a little “Dump the Cup”. When we are not getting wet we can make Hawaiian wind chimes, Luau bookmarks, and have a Beach ball relay. Of course every Island has a treasure hiding somewhere. Would you like to take home a Quadropus? Let's end the week with a Slip and Slide tug of war and a Luau. Bring your swim suits and a big towel, you will need them for this week of wet and wild Hawaiian style. 7. Double Dare VII (July 31- August 4) “Oh gross!” are the words to describe this week at camp. Let's test your skills by making you do some crazy messy games. Will you try “Clown Pants” or our ”Blue Plate Special?” If you like to eat, maybe “Cream Pie Challenge” or some “Friendly Jell-O” are more your style. I'm sure there will be a little time to create popsicle magnets and a treasure box. How can we forget the Tie-Dye bandanas? There will be plenty of surprises in store for your counselors too in their own Double Dare competitions planned by you, the campers. Be ready to get slimmed, wet, and messy. Don't worry we will clean you up before you go!
