Library Reminders Grade 1 Isabella No Jumping on the Bed Grade 2 Bellah Helen Keller Courage in the Dark Teachers Page: MRS. MURPHY This week we have been finishing up our look at worship in Religion class. The students will be having a test next week, and then we will begin the unit on the means of grace. In this unit the students will be looking at the different sacraments and how they help us in our faith. The students have been doing a great job reading through their books and giving facts and other thoughts on the books that they read. They have also been doing a good job reading news articles and showing me what they learned in those articles. Congratulations to Jordy on finishing all of his 1 minute timed multiplication and division fact tests. He now will be working on passing his 5 minute tests. MRS. McCLELLAN This week we read one of Jesus’ miracles. Jesus healed a man who had been paralyzed. Jesus told the man that his sins were forgiven. Jesus took care of the man’s sin sickness first. This upset the Jewish leaders. They thought that Jesus was being blasphemous. So that all the people present might believe that Jesus was the Messiah, He also healed the physical sickness of the man. The man got up and walked away. How awesome our Lord and Savior is! Book orders came home today. I am sending home orders for February and March. These orders will be due Monday, March 3rd. We continue to work hard. Please keep encouraging your child to stay focused and work hard. Continue practicing math facts with him/her. Keep them reading too. Have a great weekend and remember to worship our risen Lord and Savior! MRS. LUDWIG In Jesus Time, we talked about Jesus blessing the children. It is important for all people to hear God’s word, not just adults. We did a hand poem about the church and talked about how it is important for all people to go to church. Again, not just adults. In reading we started working with the L sound. We sang about Lucy Lion and played charades with L and P words. Our new word this week was: go. We have started a new Einstein Kit in Science. This one has your child looking at fabrics. We started by looking at different fabrics and searching for fabric in our classroom. We also made a collage of all different fabrics. Next week, I will be sending home a bag and book to read with your child, please read it and return the next day. If you are unable to get to it, please return and I will send it home another day. Memory next week is verse 29 and snack person is Lydia. .MRS.TOENJES This week both preschool and 4K started a unit on Skin, Feathers, Fur and Scales. We began by looking closer at our own skin, its attributes, and how it compares to animal coverings. We then looked at mammals and their fur coverings and how we are considered mammals too. We really are enjoying the classroom animal hospital too. Thanks for your help in getting it set up! During Jesus Time we heard the parable that Jesus taught about the Good Samaritan. Our Bible words for the week are “Love your neighbor.” We had good discussions about what that means and what Jesus meant by “neighbor.” God bless your weekend! Take time to worship Him.
