Tutor:
The Revd Elizabeth Baxter MPhil is Executive Director
of Holy Rood House Centre for Health and Pastoral
Care and The Centre for the Study of Theology and
Health. Elizabeth is also Outreach Co-ordinator for the
Guild of Health in partnership with the Charity.
Elizabeth has run many courses for women over the
last 21 years and enjoys travelling the journey alongside women as they discover their own empowerrment
as Women of Spirit. Elizabeth writes liturgy for the
Centre and is passionate about theology and as a
Pastoral and Feminist Theologian she seeks to make
connections with issues of justice and peace.
Throughout this course Elizabeth uses images, film,
creative spaces, biblical reflection and simple ritual
and welcomes other members of the Community to
share their gifts with the group. Small group work,
some ‘home work’, reading weeks and journaling all
form a process through which women find their own
way forward and a blossoming of their own spirituality
within the Christian story.
Support Staff:
Carolyn Williamson MA Theol., is a residential community member and P.A. to Elizabeth at Holy Rood
House.
“I leave with a new song in my heart, and smile inside
and a renewed faith in a gentle God…”

“And you whose spirits are sad or unsure...Try to imagine that
someone now believes in you because she trusts your loveliest
feelings...commitments...confidence...joy. She is your best friends,
whether or not you would have her, for she calls forth the best in
you. She comes in the knowledge that together you, she, and others embody a moving image of
sacred power, a fresh wellspring of relational integrity...
Her name is love.
