The Cast: Dotty Otley - Eileen Fenn Lloyd Dallas - Derek Hall Garry Lejeune - John Stevens Brooke Ashton - Kristen Carmichael Frederick Fellowes - Derek Kirschner Belinda Blair- Becky Darling Selsdon Mowbray - Christopher Brechtel . • Director's Comments: . Noises Off is a high-flying, fast-paced comedy about a second-rate acting company touring a trashy British sex farce. Since this is a play within a play, many of the cast members perform two roles: their roles as American actors and their characters in the British play. This is physical comedy at its best The production isfilledwith every cheap theatre gag ever written, and then the playwright adds a few more for good measure. Act I takes place during the dress rehearsal before opening night in that booming theatre town, Peoria, EL. Budding romances among cast and crew abound. Act II takes place one month later, and we see what happens backstage during the performance as several of the romances have begun to sour. Act III occurs two months later, during a performance when practically the entire company is in shambles and everything that could possibly go wrong does. While the original script involved a troupe ofBritish actors performing in England, the St. Lawrence University production is set in the United States in order to make it more accessible to American audiences. This has resulted in altering many subtle language references in the script, as well as changing the locales to American cities. Setting the production in 1974 has also inspired costumes that accentuate the eccentricities of the characters and add to the production's humor. This zany, crazy comedy is a laughriotand sure to be a crowd pleaser. Much of the humor in Noises Off does rely on some hilarious sexual innuendo and absurd adult situations. Noises Off is recommended for mature audiences. 77m Allgood - Robert Fielder Poppy iYortgfl-Taylpr Maia Jordan w i^wm&wmmm. —N.J..Stanleyl • ' / . ••* ••.;.;.; j . r i • ' ..'
