Hi!
My name is Marc, I'm almost 22 and I live in the south of
France in a nice city called Albi, near Toulouse. I am
happy that I will be working as a French assistant at
Kingsmead throughout the school year 2013/2014.
Among plenty of things I like to do, I'm fond of sports.
I'm particularly interested in English football. About that,
I don't follow the way which the big majority of the
French people do: I do not support Arsenal but..
Tottenham! I also play the guitar and I do like travelling.
I've been passionate about England for a long time. I am
lucky to make trips pretty often to London. Even though
this is my first time in England outside London, it seems
to be even better than what I was expecting.
After I passed « le baccalauréat », I studied two years in
a class we call « prépa HEC », which is basically a
preparation for « les concours des écoles supérieures de
commerce françaises ».
Thus, I am currently a student in an « école supérieure de commerce » in Pau, in the very south west
of France, and I just finished my first year.
During this year, I got involved in an association which helps teenagers who may have some
difficulties at school. While I did not know that before, I actually found out that I enjoyed teaching.
To carry on in this way, I chose to spend 3 months during the last summer as a French
teacher/counselor in an American traditional summer camp in the Suan Juan Islands right between
Seattle and Vancouver. I previously had chosen to take a gap year to be able to work as a French
assistant in England.
So, now I'm being here and I am doing my best to help the Kingsmead's pupils and teachers in
French class. The main purpose is to make the pupils like it, because I think learning a new language
is a nice way to become more open-minded, and this definitely represents an added value, either in
professional or social life.
