exhibiting at EXPONOR.

HELPFUL TRAVEL INFORMATION
ENTRY / EXIT REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS
U.S. citizens entering Chile must have a passport in good condition, valid for the period of your stay. U.S.
citizens traveling to Chile for recreation, tourism, business, or academic conferences do not need to obtain a
visa prior to their arrival in Chile if traveling with a tourist passport. All official and diplomatic passport
holders are required to obtain a visa prior to travel regardless of the purpose of their visit. For those
traveling with a tourist passport, a Tourist Card or printed receipt will be issued to each visitor at
immigration for a stay of up to 90 days. An extension of stay for another 90 days is possible upon payment of
a USD 100 extension fee at the Chilean Immigration Office located at San Antonio 580, Santiago; telephone

SMART TRAVELER ENROLLMENT PROGRAM (STEP)
The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals traveling
abroad to enroll their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. https://step.state.gov/step/
By enrolling in STEP, you will:

Receive important information from the Embassy about safety conditions in your destination
country, helping you make informed decisions about your travel plans.

Help the U.S. Embassy contact you in an emergency, whether natural disaster, civil unrest, or family
emergency.

Help family and friends get in touch with you in an emergency.
POWER PLUG & ADAPTORS
The standard electrical current used in Chile is 220 volts AC (50 Hz Cycle) and you can use power plugs C & L.
The type C electrical plug (or Europlug) is a two-wire plug that has two round pins. The type L electrical plug
has two round pins, with a grounding pin in the middle.

WEATHER, CURRENCY, & TIME ZONE
The town of Antofagasta has a mild desert climate with abundant sunshine and strong maritime influence.
May is characterized by gradually falling daily high temperatures, with daily highs around 65°F and daily low
temperatures around 56°F throughout the month.
Chile's national currency is the Chilean peso (CH$) which comes in denominations of 500, 1000, 2000, 5000,
10,000 and 20,000 pesos. Coin values are one, five, 10, 50, 100 and 500 pesos
Chile Summer Time (CLST) is 3 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Please note Daylight Saving
Time Ends May 14, 2017 - 12:00:00 midnight clocks are turned backward 1 hour to Saturday, May 13, 2017,
11:00:00 pm local standard time instead. Chile Standard Time (CLT) is 4 hours behind Coordinated Universal
Time (UTC).
ANTOFAGASTA: La perla del norte, or the pearl of the north, is a city between the desert and the sea. With
surprising geological formations, cliffs, warm waters and beautiful native flora and fauna, the region’s capital
is also the birthplace of Chile’s nitrate extraction era.

Services Department will help you avoid costly errors.

Please note that an Electrical outlet does not come with the turnkey package. To order an outlet and power,
visit the KW3-E accessories form.
