SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR VETERANS IN WARE CEMETERY
The Spanish-American War was a conflict between Spain and the United State in 1898. The issues
involved Spanish and American influence in Cuba, and the ten-week war was fought in the Caribbean
and in the Pacific. The Treaty of Paris gave the United States colonial authority over Puerto Rico, Guam,
and the Philippine Islands.
