2014 Youth Mission Trip to the Mile-High City August 1-8, 2014 On February 19th at our regular youth meeting I made a surprising rediscovery about the people in our group. They already have the desire and courage it takes to serve God and neighbor. It’s an honor and privilege (well…most of the time) to work with a group of young people who want to put their growing faith into action. Below you will see just a few of their answers to the question: Why do you want to go on the mission trip to Denver and what gifts do you bring? I want to help other people in need…and it would make me happy knowing I can help people out. …because I really want to meet people that don’t have homes It would be a great opportunity to help those in need and get more in touch with serving God. I am good with children and following directions. …You could save someone’s life. I feel like the people we’ll meet will be very nice. I’ve never been to a big city, but I feel like the people I’ll meet will be very kind and giving. I want to know the real meaning of helping people who seriously need it. I like to build and explore. I am nervous and excited, but I want to go because I want to get closer to God and help. I am smart and I can multi-task. I can sew and have some experience with drilling, nailing and stuff like that…I am excited to get to know people from different places I think people there are very grateful for the little they get. They have been through a lot and they could give you some very good life lessons. Just thought you’d like to hear what’s happening in the minds and hearts of our youth as they prepare for their adventure. Thanks for supporting our youth with your gifts and prayers. Grace and Peace, Pastor Jan
