STEM EDUCATION
For over 40 years, the Center for Educational Technology (CET) has been
shaping new educational paradigms for our changing world. With
EXPERIENCE, CET brings together its expertise as an educational
publisher, pedagogic specialist, and technology innovator to offer grade 1-8
students a rich, highly engaging inquiry-based STEM learning approach.
CET is one of the international companies involved in the development
of science simulations for PISA 2015, selected for its innovation and
pedagogic expertise in the development of science simulations.
MEETING THE
CHALLENGES
OF 21C STEM EDUCATION
The challenge for STEM education in the 21st century is to prepare students
to understand scientific phenomena and to solve technological problems facing
humanity. We propose meeting this challenge by enabling students to:
●●
●●
●●
●●
2
Understand and explain scientific concepts and natural phenomena.
Understand the essence and procedures of scientific inquiry, ask questions
and define problems, as well as, plan and carry out investigations.
Interpret scientific evidence, analyze scientific data, and explain natural
phenomena using mathematical tools and models.
Identify and address human-related problems and needs that can be solved
by technology and engineering, based on scientific knowledge.
EXPERIENCE STEM's

EXPERIENCE is available
in the following formats:
1
Print & Digital –
digital textbooks with
embedded learning objects
and simulations as well as
teacher guides.
2
Digital Repository of
Learning Objects –
simulations with enquiry
challenges.
3
Apps (for iPad).
The digital textbooks and the
Learning Objects can be managed
by a LMS (Learning-Management
System).

EXPERIENCE
Digital
Books
At CET, we create innovative books
customized to STEM and other guidelines,
including NGSS and Common Core
standards. Our books feature scientific
content, hands-on activities, virtual labs,
simulations, animations, and technological
problems, and they provide opportunities
for students to develop engineering skills
through project work.
EXPERIENCE
Science
Simulations
Today, many students lag behind in developing the skills of scientific inquiry, shown to be
central to scientific literacy.
At CET, we have developed science simulations to specifically address these learning issues.
EXPERIENCE has multiple benefits:
●● Making the invisible visible through dynamic visual representations
4
●●
Developing student inquiry skills by active learning
●●
Increasing student motivation to learn and explore scientific concepts
●●
Improving assessment of student content knowledge and inquiry skills

●●
Dynamic simulations of scientific phenomena
and concepts
Multiple representations, such as dynamic
graphs, tables, and interactive animations
Investigations that help students learn
by exploring inquiry questions
Thought-provoking quizzes, ideal for individual
learning, small-group work,
and teacher-led class instruction
