Pear, Pineapple & kiwifruit crumble Serves tastes for class of 36 Equipment needed Ingredients peeler medium mixing bowl chopping board chefs knife measuring spoons measuring cups 1 heat proof dish 4 serving bowls 4 large pears 2 kiwifruit 4 pineapple rings (or 1 cup pieces) 2 Tablespoons white sugar ½ tsp ground ginger Hints for Home 80g butter Pears could be pre-cooked ¾ cup flour with a little water either on ¾ cup brown sugar the stove top or in micro½ cup oats wave to speed up baking. ¼ cup coconut ½ teaspoon cinnamon extra butter for greasing dish What to do 1. Preheat oven 200°C 2. Grease oven proof dish with a little butter. 3. Peel, core and slice pears. 4. Peel and cut the kiwifruit into 1cm cubes. 5. Cut the pineapple rings into small segments. 6. In a small bowl mix the 2 Tbsp white sugar and ginger. 7. Put pears into baking dish and the kiwifruit and pineapple. Sprinkle with the ginger/sugar mixture. 8. Into the medium mixing bowl, measure the flour, brown sugar, oats, coconut, cinnamon. 9. Rub in the butter with your finger tips until the mixture is crumbly and the butter evenly distributed. 10. Sprinkle the crumble mix over the fruit. 11. Put into oven and bake for 30 minutes. 12.Remove from oven and carefully put crumble into each serving dish. Serving Note This could be eaten by itself or served with cream, custard, icecream or yoghurt.
