Just a few more days until the 2nd Annual St. Rose of Lima Gala – a most fabulous night is
in store! This preview packet provides you with helpful event information and a sneak
peek at all the auction items open for bidding at auction.
Helpful Tips:

Parking is located in the St. Rose of Lima parking lots off of Brinkman, the Girl Scouts Cottage
on Wakefield, the Food Pantry, ECC and Parish office side. Please be mindful of driveways, fire
hydrants and handicapped spaces.

Follow the sounds of the Derby fanfare and please enter the East Hall through the Waving Gate.
Security will be on hand to guide.

Have your credit card ready for faster auction pre-scanning at Check-in.

Bidding opens at 6:00 p.m. for the Silent Auction, Class Projects, Fun with Faculty, and Adult
Sign-up Parties and closes at 10:00 p.m.


AUCTION RULES
In order to participate in the silent or live auction please register at Check-in table to obtain a bidding
packet. Those choosing to pay for auction purchases via credit card area asked to pre-scan their credit
cards during check-in. Pre-scanning bidders will be able to forego the payment process at the close of the
auction and simply pick up their winning packages.
Your bidding packet will include a sheet of labeled bar codes for silent auction bidding, a bidding sheet
for Paddles Up for Athletes, and a bidding paddle for live auction. EACH GUEST WILL HAVE A
UNIQUE BIDDER NUMBER CONTAINED IN HIS/HER PACKET.
Reservations for use of homes, property, etc., must be mutually arranged with the donor unless otherwise
specified. All travel and accommodations are subject to availability. Rescheduling advertised dates will
be at the discretion of the donor.
SILENT AUCTION
By bidding in the 2017 "Run for the Roses" Gala silent auction, each bidder agrees to the following
auction rules:

All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are
“as is.” St. Rose of Lima has attempted to describe items correctly, but neither warrants nor
represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness,
authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in program, or made orally
at the auction or elsewhere, shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of
liability.

The auction item value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised
unless so noted. The amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is tax deductible to the
extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax adviser to clarify amount of deduction.

Restaurant certificates do not include alcohol, tax, or gratuities unless specified.

In order to bid in the Silent Auction, a pre-scan must be completed at the Check-in table at the
East Hall entrance. Each bidder will receive an auction packet and will be able to then place a bar
code sticker on the next highest bid place marker OR in the "Buy Now" place marker located on
the Silent Auction tables.

The official closing will be at approximately 10:00 pm and will be announced over the microphone at
the event. Items in the Silent Auction may be bid on until the individual section closes. Attendants
will collect the bid sheets as each section closes. Please do not attempt to bid again after the closing
announcement has been made. ANY BIDS MADE AFTER THE SILENT AUCTION CLOSES
WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
LIVE AUCTION

Live Auction bidding will begin at approximately 8:00 p.m. and will continue until all items have
been sold.

Items available for bid during the Live Auction are listed in the event program. The
auctioneer may correct or modify the description of any item prior to its sale.

To bid on an item, signal your bid by raising your paddle, wait for recognition from the
auctioneer or an auction official. A valid bid must equal or exceed opening bid or increase bid
announced.

The highest bidder at the time the auctioneer declares the bidding closed wins the item.
An auction volunteer will obtain your name, bidder number and signature to verify the
winning bid. Auctioneer makes final decision on all aspects of the Live Auction.
