A vibrating string has certain resonance frequencies, each associated
with a particular pattern of vibration called a vibration mode. The corresponding resonance frequencies are fundamental to the 3 harmonics
of the note to which the string is tuned. Wrong-alloyed or bad-coated
string will not be set into vibration in the shape of all of these modes
and will not continue to vibrate in this shape at the corresponding resonance frequency. „Carlos“
strings enable the guitarist to now vary the mixture of amplitudes of the various modes. By plucking
at different points on the string he participates in this process with his personal playing dynamics.

John McLaughlin
is widely recognized as one of the premier authorities in the Guitar World. The
Puerto Rican native is a full blooded musician, experienced guitar technician and is known for his innovations
in the musical instrument industry. Before settling down in Germany in 1982 he toured the world as a
