Mrs. Barnett’s Buzz March 21, 2014 Spring is finally here but that hasn’t slowed us down! This week in Social Studies we have been writing articles comparing and contrasting our life today with life in colonial times. The students did a nice job with their presentations a few weeks ago and are using the information they gathered to aid them in writing this informative piece. We have also started learning about the French and Indian War and other events leading up to the Revolutionary War. I hope to see all of you this weekend at the Reading Celebration which will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 Saturday night at the middle school and high school. Stop by to visit the room sponsored by the fifth grade students. We will be cooking throughout American history and sharing some foods that were popular during various time periods of our country’s past. Please keep in mind… Please send in one baby/toddler photograph of your child for our end-of-year slide show. We are also interested in any group photos from over the years that you may have (birthday parties, ball games, field trips, etc.) Please put photos in an envelope or baggie with your child’s name on the back of each photo so they can be returned.
