WELCOME
Please consider donating to the Arts
Club this Christmas, or participating
in our Holiday Campaign. Your
gifts help us train youth, develop
playwrights, and keep artists
employed in this community, where
they belong.
There is something joyous about
seeing nine kids romp around
the rehearsal room. Director/
choreographer Valerie Easton is
a veteran at dealing with multitalented youngsters through her
years of directing at Royal City
Musical Theatre Company and
other community companies. When
casting, she and Danny Balkwill,
her musical director, along with
Stephanie Hargreaves, our Artist
Liaison, auditioned more than 50
young people. The kids are having
a terrific introduction to what it is
like to appear in a big musical with
a professional company of actor/
singer/dancers. If they are keen, they
participate in our summer Music
Theatre Intensive run by director
Peter Jorgensen.
This intensive, designed for youth
aged 12 to 19, recently celebrated its
14th year and is just one of the youth
activities that we program—and it
couldn’t exist without donor support.
The Arts Club thanks Play Patrons and
Artistic Director’s Circle members Todd
& Valerie Prodanuk for pledging their
personal support for this production.
6 A Christmas Story, The Musical
And, since ‘tis the season, we’d also
like to say thank you. Thank you to
our dedicated and talented staff who
have spent all year in the service of
the great work the Arts Club does
(and what a year it’s been, with
us saying goodbye to our beloved
Revue Stage and welcoming our
newest member of the family, the
Goldcorp Stage at the BMO Theatre
Centre—come check it out when
Peter and the Starcatcher starts there
in late November). Thank you to
our donors for their support of Arts
Club activities that could not exist
without them. Thanks to our board
for the volunteer hours they put it
on our behalf. And a special thanks
to our outgoing board president,
Ross Paul, whose passion for the
theatre is boundless and whose work
on our behalf is tireless. And thank
you to you: for being here, sitting as
one in our theatre, embracing our
performers and our shows. It means
a lot. To us all.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR’S CIRCLE
The Arts Club Theatre Company relies on your philanthropic support to ensure the strength and vitality of the company. As a non-profit
arts organization, the Arts Club could not exist without the generosity of our individual donors. Ticket sales cover only a portion of our
production costs, so we rely on community gifts to close the gap. Please consider joining us by becoming a member of the Artistic
Director’s Circle today. Contact Parmida Zarrinkamar, Manager of Individual Giving, at 604.687.5315, ext. 261, for more information.
