York Catholic High School 601 E. Springettsbury Avenue, York, PA 17403 717.846.8871 www.yorkcatholic.org Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Guardians: Please review the enclosed information regarding York Catholic’s annual Magazine Drive Fundraiser. New this year to the prize offerings are college tuition credits. Details can be found inside the packet. The first day of returns starts September 8. The drive ends September 18. We ask that you start to sell as early as possible so we can avoid conflicts with the other schools selling the same magazines. The Magazine Drive is the main student fundraiser for the school with the money going to the General Operating Budget. Each student is asked to bring his/her own checks/money for his/her orders. If you have 2 or more students, please do not combine the money into one envelope. Each student’s homeroom has an assigned quota. If the money/orders come in under one student’s name, only that student’s homeroom will be credited. The top 6 homerooms win cash prizes based on the percentage of returns. If you have one student at YC, he/she is asked to sell 7 subscriptions as his/her quota. If you have 2 students, they are asked to sell 6 subscriptions each; 3 students would sell 5 subscriptions each; and 4 students or more would sell 4 subscriptions each. If the student sells his/her quota and brings the money in on the first day of returns (September 8), he/she gets to dress down for the first 8 days of the drive. Your student may dress down as soon as he/she brings in his/her money. If you do not want your student to dress down, he/she should still bring in his/her money to be eligible to win other prizes. Dress down is the “reward” for those who reach their quota, but it is not the only prize – daily drawings will be held to win cash/gift cards. A bonus spin on the prize wheel is earned for every 3 subscriptions sold above the quota. The top 10 sellers will be determined by 3 PM on Thursday, September 17. Entries received Friday, September 18, will not be included in the top 10 calculations or qualify for prize wheel participation. A list of prizes on the prize wheel is included in your Magazine Drive information packet. As mentioned above, Great American Opportunities is offering students the ability to earn college tuition credit. By selling $100, students will earn $1,000 in tuition reward points, and those selling $250 will earn $2,500 in tuition reward points. Students in grades 711 are eligible for the college tuition credit prize. Please review the enclosed flyer for details or visit www.gafundraising.com/campaign/tuition-rewards/. Please make sure your student fills out the order slips completely. There are three order entries per slip. If all 3 orders are going to the same address, you only need to complete one form. If you have 3 orders going to different addresses, then each order must have its own order form. Please be sure each form contains the following information written neatly: student’s name and homeroom at the bottom of the slip, customer’s name and address, magazine ID number, number of issues, price, and if it’s a new magazine or renewal. The customer gets the pink slip. The white and yellow copies should be returned to the school with the money. Extra slips are available in the main office. Checks should be made out to York Catholic High School, not Great American Opportunities. We encourage online ordering. Students receive a bonus prize wheel spin for every 5 online subscriptions purchased at www.gafundraising.com. All you need to do is include the YC code 2569838 in your online order, print the confirmation page, and bring it to school with the rest of your orders. Following these guidelines will help those who count the money and compile the orders. If you are available to help count the money, work the prize wheel, or have any questions about the Magazine Drive, please contact Mrs. Gick at (717) 846-8871 x43 or sgick@yorkcatholic.org or drop a note to her at the main office. Thank you in advance for making this a successful Magazine Drive!
