Red poppies symbolize the memory of those who died serving in the World Wars. White poppies with the American flags symbolize the campaigns for military interventions and conflicts where American soldiers still serve and are remembered! On November 11, many special church and civil services are organized. These often include the reading of the fourth verse of the poem “On Flanders Fields” by John McCrae followed two minutes silence at 11:00 (or 11am) on th November 11 . After the service, wreaths are laid at local war memorials. Since then, we will hold similar services and events are held throughout the country. Perhaps, one day there may be no more wars! Let us pray and work for World Peace and remember those who work to secure our freedom for us today! God bless you!
