I had the opportunity to talk to every vendor at the show and am very impressed with the products and services they all offer. Their feedback on the Expo was strong and positive giving them an opportunity to meet with REALTORs and each other. Log on to our WCAR website to see the list of our Affiliated Members and what they offer to you. http://www.wcarmn.com To complete The NAR Challenge for all us REALTOR®s to ““remain the first point of contact with consumers” through Community, Education and Political Advocacy”” this month’s focus is on the third and last aspect of NAR’s challenge: Political Advocacy. Nothing affects our business and lives more than the laws, regulations and rules that govern our industry. NAR’s Government Affairs Division advocates for federal policy initiatives that strengthen the ability of Americans to own, buy and sell real property. Find out more at http://www.realtor.org/polit ical-advocacy. Minnesota REALTORS® advocates similarly on a State level. They work hard representing the interests of the industry and homeowners by lobbying issues that will affect home ownership and your business. There are numerous avenues for you to get involved and informed. Legislative updates, policy position and more can be found here: http://www.mnrealtor.com/ governmental-affairs. Supporting the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is a way to have your voice heard locally, in St. Paul and in Washington DC. Check out how you can contribute to MN-RPAC http://www.mnrpac.org Also, consider contributing to RPAC along with your 2015 Dues. Being informed will open new conversations with your clients. Let them know REALTORS® are currently fighting against changes to the Mortgage Interest and Property Tax Deductions and Capital Gains Exclusion at Federal and State level and so much more! It’s your business to know your business. As we prepare for the onset of the winter months ahead and rake the last of the leaves from our yards it’s a great time to look in the near future and prepare to continue supporting home ownership through community support, staying educated and politically advocating for Home Ownership rights and policies and your real estate business.
