VTU, Belagavi, named after Bharat Ratna Sir M.
Visvesvaraya, is a dream-come-true for technocrats
and academicians of Karnataka. VTU is one of the
leading and largest Technological University in India
with more than 200 colleges affiliated to it. It offers
under graduate course in 28 disciplines and post
graduate programmes in 71 disciplines. The University
has a constituent Engineering College and 16 extension
centres offering PG and Research programs apart from
13 QIP centres in various affiliated colleges. There are
over 2300 departments recognized as research centres
offering Ph.D. and M.Sc (Engg) programmes.
University BDT College of Engineering (UBDTCE)
UBDTCE, Davanagere, is a Constituent Engineering
College of VTU and is geographically located in the
central part of Karnataka. The College has a long and
cherished history of over 65 years. Started in the year
1951, it is named after the donors Brahmappa

college has grown by leaps and bounds and has
become a leading Technical institution in the region.
At present, it offers seven undergraduate and ten post
graduate courses including M.Tech, MBA, and MCA.
Further, research programmes leading to the award of
M.Sc (Engg.) and PhD degrees in various branches are
also offered. About 2500 students are studying at
UG/PG level apart from about 50 research scholars
pursuing their research in various frontiers of
engineering and technology.
About the Organizing Departments:
