As a diversified materials manufacturer firmly rooted in the
metal and coal mining industries, the Mitsubishi Materials

In the cement business, we have built an integrated value chain for the production
and sale of various kinds of cement, encompassing ready-mixed concrete,
limestone and aggregate as raw materials. Overseas, we have established

In the metals business, we engage in various operations globally; smelting
operations that boast world-class proprietary technologies; the production and sale
of high-performance processed copper products; E-Scrap recycling operations, and;
the retailing of precious metals.

In the advanced materials & tools business, with the Group’s comprehensive capabilities
as a manufacturer of base powders, we supply cemented carbide tools, which are essential
for processing various components in the automobile, aircraft, and other fields, as well as
sintered products that form the core components of automobiles . Drawing on the strengths
of the world-class performance and quality of our products, we are expanding our cemented
carbide tool business activities across global markets.

In the electronic materials & components business, we globally manufacture and sell
four groups of products: consisting of advanced materials such as sputtering targets
for thin film forming; chemicals such as organic fluoride; electronic component including
sensors for home appliances, and; silicon products such as polycrystalline silicon.

In the Environment and Energy Business, we operate the Energy Business, which
encompasses renewable energy, nuclear, coal, and other activities; and the
Recycling Business, which recycles home appliances and other used products.
アルミ事業では、アルミの圧延および加工、製缶をグループ内で展開す
るとともに、使用済み飲料用アルミ缶の一貫リサイクルを日本で唯一行っ
ています。また圧延のうち押出し事業では、海外 4 カ国に製造拠点を設

As well as the Group’s aluminum rolling, processing and can manufacturing
businesses, we operate Japan’s only self-contained recycling system for used
beverage cans. We also operate globally, with manufacturing and sales facilities in

世界でも類を見ない、金属製錬とセメント製造を行っていたことで、生まれ
た「マテリアル・プレミアム」が「製錬・セメント資源化システム」です。
セメント工場、製錬所双方で発生する廃棄物、副産物を相互に原料として
受け入れ、廃棄物の発生しない「ゼロエミッションシステム」を実現しました。
また金属事業では、自動車や家電向けに生産した銅加工品を廃棄後に再
び資源化するバリューチェーンを構築、その拡大を通して地下資源を守り
持続可能な社会を目指しています。

Since we are the distinctive entity in the world who operate both metal smelting and
cement production, our “Smelting and Cement Recycling System” is the realization of
our “Materials Premium” concept. We have created a “Zero Emissions System” that
does not generate any waste, by having the waste and byproducts from our cement
and smelting plants reciprocally reused as raw materials in each respective process.
In the metals segment, we have put in place a value chain for recycling processed
copper products that had been made for automobiles and home appliances after
their disposal. By expanding this value chain, we aim to realize a sustainable society
that protects our underground natural resources.

り組みを行っています。
加工事業では、世界に偏在するタングステンの安定調達
と資源保護を目的に、使用済み製品の回収と国内唯一の
製錬技術により再資源化を実現しました。

The Mitsubishi Materials Group takes a multifaceted approach to
recycling in each business.
In the advanced materials & tools business, we have established
a recycling system based on our unique smelting technologies in
Japan. We recover metals from used cemented carbide products
for the purpose of conserving natural resources and ensuring the
stable procurement of tungsten, an unevenly distributed resource
around the world.
In the electronic materials & components business, we have
established technologies for efficiently refining waste solutions
and compounds from products containing fluorine, which is an
essential material for IT and electronics products. We are making
progress on reducing the use of natural resources.
